Working with CQ Events

Forty Seven work with CQ Events in Central Queensland to assist in vendor recruitment and marketing of vendors.  We collaborate on event concepts, styling and branding.  Forty Seven has been working with CQ Events owner Nikki Hinder since late 2020 in providing marketing and graphic design services.

The connection between Forty Seven founder Christine Wilson and Nikki at CQ Events started well before this. It's a story that tells you exactly the kind of dedicated events person Christine is.

A brand new event called the Unicorn Festival had descended upon Mackay. The event, a magical children's festival created by Nikki.  At the time Christine was managing the Greater Whitsunday Farmers' Market and the River Street Twilight Markets and was well connected, expereince and had a incredible event reputation in Mackay.

On the day of the Unicorn Festival, Christine's daughter Kara was working with one of the festival vendors Tyla at Plaster Kids who was also one of Christine's dedicated event vendors.  Christine had just left the event venue after dropping her daughter and it was pouring rain, the car park was a mosh pit. Right then Nikki was being faced with a number of things that were beyond her control.  Tyla had mentioned she knew someone who could help and quickly messaged Christine.

Being a person who loves a great event idea and supports event producers, Christine said "no worries" and proceeded to gather a number of items from Bunnings, Kmart and her own collection of event equipment that would help. Promptly returning to the event site and handing over the goodies that urgently aided the event.  The carpark was quickly sorted and mudded areas were blocked off, the concrete areas were cleaned and swept down with industrial brooms and Christine quickly jumped in to serve on vendor stalls that were being overwhelmed with the high number of customers.

At the event, Christine and Nikki actually didn't get to meet and later connected via phone.  Nikki was forever grateful for this person who just jumped into help when it was needed.

Fast forward a number of years, Christine and Nikki reconnected when reached out for event branding and marketing support after things started to reopen post-COVID.

Nikki at CQ Events producers amazing events.

But what would a fresh new branding look and social media management do for the CQ Event business?

  • Event attendees increased
  • Vendor quality and quantity increased
  • Marketing of products increased
  • Brand awareness increased
  • Community recognition increased

Perhaps the most exciting events were #CHOCFESTAFTERDARK and the #ChocolateFestival Family Fun Day in April 2022.
